Neogeography
I think that the potential of neogeography is that people are able to easily spread information to others. For example, by posting about my trip though Black Canyon, now others will be able to look at my map and see the route we took and take a similar one. People can post information on maps for others to see in the future.
However, I think a pitfall or consequence of neogeography is that the information is not peer-reviewed. Anyone can post any information they choose, even if this information is incorrect. A person viewing this information, will have no way of knowing whether the information they are looking at is correct or incorrect.
