Map 1: China's Population Map

This map shows the population density distribution across China. China currently has a population of 1,325,639,982 and has the forth largest land mass by country in the world. I find population maps so interesting because they show how closely people like to group together. For instance, in China, the vast majority of people live in great masses in the east coast, while there are vast amounts of uninhabited areas of land demarcated in the west.
Map 2: India's Population Map

This is a map demarcating the population density of India. The current population of India is 1,139,964,932 and India has the seventh greatest land mass in the world. Here the population is greatest in the north, with small areas of large populations in the southwest coast. Based on this map, India's population is more widespread than that of China's. Although, we also see here that there are large areas that seem to have a small amount of population.
US Population Map

This map shows the population spread of peoples in the United States. The United States currently has a population of 307,006,550, with the third greatest land mass by country in the world. The United States' population is mostly focused on the east coast, with also great population sizes on the west coast. This reflects the movement of peoples throughout the United States, with many people beginning in the east coast and then moving to the vast areas of land in the west.
I think it is interesting to see the maps of the most populated countries in the world and the large clumps of land that are largely uninhabited by these countries, while other cities are extremely overpopulated. I also find it interesting that the countries with the greatest populations are not the populations with the greatest land masses. The countries with the greatest land masses are Russia and Canada and have relatively minimal populations compared to the top three with 141,800,000 and 33,311,389 respectively. We see from these maps, that often large populations flock to areas near the coast, like Los Angeles, New York, and Beijing.
